The Subject Specialist – Science is responsible for ensuring high standards of teaching, curriculum implementation, and student achievement. The role involves planning engaging lessons, conducting laboratory activities, assessing student progress, supporting academic excellence, and fostering scientific inquiry and critical thinking. Key Responsibilities: -Teach Science classes in accordance with the school's curriculum. -Plan and deliver engaging, student-centred Science lessons. -Prepare lesson plans, practical experiments, and teaching resources. -Develop students' understanding of scientific concepts through theory and hands-on learning. -Assess and monitor student progress through assignments, practical work, quizzes, and examinations. -Support teachers by providing subject expertise, guidance, and best teaching practices. -Maintain a safe and well-organized laboratory environment while ensuring compliance with laboratory safety procedures. -Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students. -Maintain accurate academic records and prepare student progress reports. -Encourage scientific curiosity, innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. -Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities. -Ensure compliance with school policies and safeguarding procedures. Requirements: -Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field. -Strong subject knowledge and understanding of curriculum planning and assessment. -Experience conducting laboratory practicals and maintaining laboratory safety standards. -Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills
